What is RSS?

RSS stands for really simple syndication and is basically a news feed.

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. Once you subscribe, our news feed will deliver the latest news and headlines from the Pensions Regulator directly to you.

It's free and takes the hassle out of staying up to date.

How do I start using RSS feeds?

Generally, the first thing you need is a news reader - a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new content.

Some browsers have an integrated news reader. You'll see the orange RSS icon in the address bar and you can start using news feeds straight away - clicking on the icon will give you the option of subscribing to a news feed.

Or you can download news reader software from the web - try the Google Directory or do a search for 'news reader' in your favourite search engine.

If you already have a news reader, here's what you need to do:

1. Click on the orange RSS icon (fig 1) – you'll find this at the foot of every page on our website

2. This will open up the RSS feed and you'll see a URL in the address bar at the top of the screen (fig 2) – select and copy this URL 

3. Open up your news reader, select 'news feed' and this will allow you to paste the URL into your news reader
4. The latest news and headlines from the regulator will appear in your news reader
